Strøm is a festival in Copenhagen for electronic music, hosting in 2010 its fourth edition. Actually, Strøm is not a traditional festival, but rather a selection of the best and strongest purveyors of electronic music on the Copenhagen event scene, which has evolved heavily over the last years; Strøm is funded by the city and supported by both the City and the Region to promote electronic music- and underground and to broadcast it to the masses.

In 2009 around 80 concerts took place in different venues counting everything from cinemas, churches, metro trains, clubs and public spaces, with two main stages in the Vesterbro-area of Copenhagen. Genres like dubstep, blip blop, wonky, electronica, ambient, techno, minimal, drum’n’bass, hip hop, electro, house, synth, skwee, you name it was represented, and contributed to a constant buzz surrounding Copenhagen in a magical week in August. This will happen again in 2010, more information to come soon.
