Review 2010

art fair europe ended on 4 October 2010 after three successful days. The Trade Fair for the Art Trade took place for the first time in Nürnberg and exhibitors and visitors were very pleased with the new location. The features mainly praised were the quality of the visitors, the professional organization of the event, the good accessibility of the exhibition site by all means of transport and the interesting and attractive old town quarter of Nürnberg. The mood in the exhibition hall was excellent. Some 2,000 trade visitors, including 16per cent international, used the opportunity to source information about new developments in frames, mouldings, art prints, drawings, passepartout, picture glass and framing machines from the just under 100 exhibitors (35 per cent international). And, as some exhibitors reported, there was also plenty of ordering activity.

This is not surprising. A look at the exhibitor survey shows that 57 per cent of the exhibitors think business is on the up. It seems that the situation in the picture and frame sectors is improving again after the difficult economic period. This was also confirmed by the visitors at art fair europe, who are mainly gallery owners, art dealers and specialist retailers. The visitors from abroad travelled from countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Abu Dhabi, Chile, Nigeria and the USA
