Filomusi Productions invites you to 'Nabo'

Aarhus based dance company Filomusi Productions invites you to 'Nabo' (Neighbour) - a modern dance duet which takes place in your living room. The event is inspired by stories and opinions that people have told about their neighbour.
The name Filomusi is taken from the Greek words filo- + musa (muse), and means 'love to the muses' or 'love of the beautiful arts'.
Filomusi Productions is a newly established dance company in the heart of Aarhus, Denmark. It is created by the Danish dancer and choreographer Julie Brøgger, who with a background from the dance scene in Copenhagen, Amsterdam and New York wish to expand the ideas of modern dance. Connect the artists in Aarhus as well as to think beyond borders and nationalities.
"As a dancer and choreographer I constantly challenge myself to find new ways to use the body. I like to investigate the body and its possibilities within movement and find that the process is equally as important as the goal. Filomusis Performances are created in a close collaboration with the dancers. We work with their individuality, their mentality as well as their physical ability, and by doing so we use the dancer not only as a physical object, but as the person it is with all it's aspects. This makes the performance more present without compromising the modern dance as a genre".
Filomusi Productions has performed in a wide range of places such as Aarhus Cathedral, Aros Aarhus art museum, Musikhuset Aarhus, The Lobby at Dansehallerne, Cph. and will in the fall of 2010 perform at private homes as well "Rally for life" - a festival supporting Cancer.
Filomusi Production also offer workshops in repertoire, improvisation, gyrokinesis and modern dance for int/adv. As well as they offer workshops for schools, day-care centers and Companies.
