Basilica St. Georges
The basilica of St. George is one of the oldest church buildings in Prague. Despite numerous restorations the monastery dates back to the year 920 and ranks among the great monuments of Romanesque architecture in Bohemia (Prague). Several Czech princes of the House of Přesmyslid, including the founder of the basilica, Prince Vratislav, are buried here. The tomb of the basilica St. Ludmila a patron of the Bohemian Lands is located in the chapel. In 973 the convent of St. George was founded at the basilica. Now the St. George Basilica houses the early Bohemian art collection of the National Gallery
