Returning next autumn to the spectacular setting of Puthall Farm, Marlborough this dynamic sculpture exhibition shows selected work from new and established artists against the backdrop of the farmed landscape and kaleidoscopic colours of Savernake Forest.
Set amidst the spectacular rolling hills and woodland of the Marlborough Downs, Puthall Park Sculpture Show returns in autumn 2012 featuring contemporary sculpture.
Puthall Park Sculpture Show is located on a beautiful Crown Estate farm near Marlborough.
Melissa Cole is building Puthall Park's reputation as a venue for a major sculpture biennial for anyone wishing to see contemporary sculpture outdoors, for free.
Melissa says "Having a year off to focus on my own work, I am able to bring the excitement back to Puthall Park Sculpture Show. The 2012 show is aiming to be bigger than ever before, so wrap up warm and wear your wellies and come an visit us in the dramatic autumnal landscape at Puthall Park."
Melissa's interest in exhibiting sculpture in the open air is based on her experience and understanding of how sculpture is best shown in a living outdoor environment.
The First Puthall Park Sculpture Show was first held in June 2004, then June 2006 which was supported by the Arts Council England. Quotes from these exhibition: "first show I've seen, really inspirational and enjoyable- thank you", "a delightful display and so much to see, we thoroughly enjoyed it". "brilliant, lovely to see a diverse range", "outstanding! A great joy for the soul and free to boot", "wonderful, just as lovely as last year, can't wait to come again". The last show successfully moved to November for 2008.
