Miss Quincy
'Miss Quincy isn't just another pretty face with a guitar. Did I mention she can sing? Her voice is a welcome change from the overproduced, synthesized female drones filling commercial airwaves these days. It has character and bite, like a good cigar.' - The Calgary Beacon. Tipping her hat to earlier times and the rugged Northern beauty that has been the backdrop of her life, Miss Quincy draws inspiration from the pioneering women who came before, the blues ladies of the 1930's, dirty guitar licks, and sweet gospel harmonies.

7:30 pm - 11:15 pm - Sunday Evening Concert - Headliners

Edward II and Po GirlEdward II
Splicing dance tunes of old England with the sunny sexy grooves of reggae and lovers' rock, Edward II transcended superficial notions of 'crossover' to forge a truly original synthesis from their far-flung musical roots. Featuring a seven-piece line up that saw melodeon and sax, fiddle and trombone nestling snugly cheek-by-jowl, their repertoire strolled expansively from reworked folk standards like 'Wild Mountain Thyme' or 'La Russe' to Caribbean classics like Gregory Isaacs 'Night Nurse'. They were long renowned as one of the freshest, funkiest acts on the circuit, they sent crowds from Shetland to Sri Lanka, Brazil to Bangladesh into a jigging, skanking frenzy with their superlative live shows.

Po Girl
The interplay between Allison Russell, Awna Teixeira, Benny Sidelinger, and Mikey 'Lightning' August is truly something to behold. They are distinct voices with incredible harmonies; multiple instrumentalists who bring the perfect sound to each song and songwriters who pen poetic tunes you'll find yourself humming. Po'Girl showcases a wide array of instruments-from gutbucket bass, accordion, clarinet, banjo, dobro, guitar, to electric bass, glockenspiel, piano, harmonica, bicycle bells, drums - and they all frequently trade off instruments with each song. Their fluid and joyous musicality is one of the group's most endearing and irresistible features. Impossible to put this band in a tidy little box-they're equally at home in Douala, Cameroon playing the Massao World Music Festival, as they are at the International Jazz Festival in Montreal, the Winnipeg Folk Festival, the Woodford Music Festival in Australia or just playing for fun for the people in Vondel Park, Amsterdam.

'Becky Mills and Patsy Matheson make it all seem as easy as breathing and I suspect to them, this is precisely what it is'. -Allan Wilkinson, Northern Sky
