Jazz is world music

It’s kind of obvious: jazz is part of this world. Millau has known it right from the start. In its early editions, Millau en Jazz has given their due place to Cuban music, Brazilian rhythms, fado, Balkanian traditions, Bosphore (Turkish) melodies. As if to illustrate its multiple identity, Millau en Jazz has presented itself as a "jazz and world music festival" for a long time. Once this precaution had been taken, the festival carried on with its role of pioneer in the soundscapes. Jazz, within the same period of time, travelled non-stop.

Jazz and world music have now merged. That is what this 21st festival tells us.
