About the festival
Oslo International Church Music Festival is a place for sacred moments and great music experiences. Unique venues such as the medieval church Gamle Aker are used as concert halls. The festival has since 2001 presented choirs, ensembles, orchestras and soloists of the highest class.
Although 'church music' may sound like a narrow genre, it has much more to offer than organ music and hymns. Experience the Gregorian chant or evening prayer time and feel transported to another era. Hear the magnificent oratorios, classical organ music and choral singing fill the church. Those who wish to learn more can also join the festival's seminars.
