EXHIBITION OF M. K. ČIURLIONIS’ REPRODUCTIONS “SENT FROM DRUSKININKAI”
The paintings of Čiurlionis clearly show a distinctive perception of space that gives the impression that an image was painted from a bird’s-eye view. Paintings are given a shade of cosmic vision and a deep inner concentration.
K. Čiurlionis was always interested in the issues of the universe’s origins, its structure, the world-ruling spirit, and nature and its cycles. The meaning of man and his life, the evolution of the psychological state and being, and the possibility of implementing the principles of musical creation into art are all integral parts of his aesthetic.
