The siebelius Exhibition
The new Sibelius exhibition of the museum was opened in March 2006. The completely rebuilt exhibition exhibits the life of Sibelius, his artistic work and the composer's role as an idol and national symbol.
The Main Exhibition
In the main exhibition the music of Finland is presented both from a historical and a wider cultural perspective. A selection taken from the thousand instruments of traditional and art musics from all around the globe is exhibited.
About the Museum
The Sibelius Museum is easy to reach. The museum is about one kilometre from the market square and only 150 meters from the Turku cathedral. The milieu is peaceful and cozy: the museum is surrounded by the university quarters and the museum site lies next to the River Aura. Turku is an excellent travel destination with fast connections from Helsinki and flight and ferry connections from Stockholm.
